Chapter 11 - Alone in the Waiting Room

Subuhi walks out of the clinic, feeling a mix of emotions. She tries to push down her disappointment and fear, putting on a brave face. She knows she has to wait for three more days to see the doctor again and get some answers. As she walks back to her car, she can't shake off the feeling of being alone in this journey. She had always imagined going through these moments with a partner, someone to hold her hand and share the burden. But here she is, navigating through it all by herself.

She drives back home, lost in her thoughts. She tries to distract herself by focusing on her work and daily routine, but the anxiety gnaws at her from within. She wonders why things haven't gone as planned, why she has to face this challenge alone. She longs for someone to talk to, someone who would understand her fears and offer comfort.

As the days pass, Subuhi diligently takes her prescribed injections, following the doctor's instructions. She tries to stay positive, hoping for the best, but the uncertainty weighs heavily on her mind. She finds herself constantly checking her phone for any missed calls or messages, hoping to hear from the doctor with some news. But the days go by in silence, and she starts feeling restless.

Unable to contain her anxiety any longer, Subuhi decides to go for a walk in the park to clear her mind. She finds solace in the familiar surroundings of nature, the trees swaying gently in the breeze, the chirping of birds, and the sound of leaves crunching beneath her feet. She sits on a bench and closes her eyes, taking deep breaths, trying to calm her racing thoughts.

As she opens her eyes, she sees a little girl playing nearby, giggling and chasing butterflies. Subuhi smiles, reminded of the innocence and joy of life. She realizes that she is not alone in this journey after all. She has herself, her strength, and her resilience. She has the support of her friends and family, who may not fully understand her situation but are there for her in their own ways. She also has her faith, which gives her comfort and hope.

With renewed determination, Subuhi decides to take one day at a time, trusting that things will work out eventually. She goes back home and busies herself with her work and hobbies, finding moments of joy in the little things. She reaches out to her loved ones, opening up about her fears and seeking their companionship. She learns to be kinder to herself, allowing herself to feel vulnerable and acknowledging her emotions.

Three days later, Subuhi goes back to the clinic for her follow-up appointment. She waits nervously in the reception area, but this time, she doesn't feel as alone as before. She knows that she has her own back, and she has people who care about her. When her name is called, she takes a deep breath and walks into the doctor's office, ready to face whatever news awaits her.

As she sits down in front of the doctor, she listens attentively to the words being spoken. The doctor's voice fades into the background as Subuhi's mind races, trying to comprehend the information. And then, she hears it - the sound of a heartbeat, strong and steady. Tears fill her eyes as she realizes that she is going to be a mother, despite the challenges she faced. She thanks the doctor with a grateful heart and leaves the clinic with a renewed sense of hope and joy in her heart.
